Standing desks are among the strategies small and medium-sized companies should adopt to help improve the health and wellbeing of the nation's workforce, says the head of Public Health England (PHE).
PHE chief executive Philip Selbie gave his backing to measures including sit-stand desks, walking meetings and group exercise classes, telling The Observer: "We want to see every business take a custom-made approach to employee health by looking at what staff need. We encourage employers to create dynamic environments, workplaces where people can be more active, move more and change positions, with things like standing desks."
